TORONTO KART CLUB SPONSORS' RACE REVIEW -- July 18, 2010 |
|
Sunday, July 18th was the second day of racing for the Toronto Kart Club’s double header weekend. We ran our regular club points events, along with a Sponsors' race over the lunch hour.
We had a good showing of sponsors in attendance, some of which are parents of karters with the club, or are karters that have continued to support the club after moving on. Others are businesses in the community who understand the value of what our club is all about. All our sponsors are very appreciated by the Toronto Kart Club Board and its members, and allowing the sponsors to come out for a complimentary race event is the least we can do to thank them for their support.
The sponsor race was exciting to watch from the beginning of the 15 laps , with several position battles happening throughout the race. John Nye and Steve Walker battled for first place. James Price, Charles Jacobs, and Scott Walker put on a show for the spectators, with any one of them waiting up for each other to race together. Unfortunately Charles had mechanical issues, then the other two became serious about placing. This again gave the spectators something to watch. In the end it was John Nye who took the checkered flag, followed by Steve Walker representing Boss Steel in second place, and Derek Hobbs of Ready Honda taking the third position on the podium. Complete results are posted at www.torontokartclub.com.
Many thanks to the Centennial Park crew for providing the karts for our Sponsors and Media exhibition races. |
